FERMENTATION
Our fermentation team works with a wide range of microbial systems, from standard aerobic cultures to complex gas fermentation with CO, CO₂, CH4, and H₂ for acetogens, methanotrophs, and hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria.
Our team are experienced in fermenting rumen microbiome samples under simulated rumen conditions. Coupled to our analytics platform, we utilise our HPLC and GC capabilities to characterise samples in terms of their fatty acid profiles and methane production.
We offer lab-scale process development (up to 1.5 L), yield optimisation, and growth profiling under controlled conditions. Our integrated analytics allow us to directly link fermentation outcomes to genetic and metabolic changes.

We can work with an array of diverse species and requirements utilising our specialist fermentation facilities:
Eppendorf BioFlo 115 - 1.5 L
Eppendorf DASGIP Parallel Bioreactor System - 1.0 L
Eppendorf DASBOX Mini Bioreactor System - 0.25 L
Whether you’re developing a production strain or testing a new feedstock, we can help design, run, and interpret your experiments.
